Barcelona is targeting Liverpool attacker Sadio Mane as a potential substitute for Lionel Messi.
With Argentina international telling the club he wants to move on, the Catalan giants face the possibility of losing Messi, during this summer’s transfer window.
Messi seems to be facing a struggle to persuade Barca to let him go, while Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain, and Inter Milan are thought to be the 33-year-old’s frontrunners.
The Catalan giants are putting in place preparations for the eventual departure of the South American and they have established Mane as a potential alternative, according to TuttoMercatoWeb.
However, the report argues that Ronald Koeman’s side will likely have to pay more than £ 100 m to induce the Reds to sell one of their star players ahead of the 2020-21 campaign.
Until 2023 the 28-year-old has an Anfield deal, during the 2019-20 season he has scored 22 times and posted 12 assists in 47 club-level appearances.
Mane previously played at Southampton under the current Barca manager Koeman.
