Liverpool announced new sponsors ‘Nike’ and unveiled a brand-new home kit

The new home kit for campaign 2020-21 has been revealed by the newly-crowned champions of the Premier League.

Liverpool ended their relationship with New Balance, following Jurgen Klopp’s side started a new kit deal with Nike.

Nike’s first year with Liverpool will also be the first year of the Reds as champions of the Premier League.

To lift another record-breaking top-flight title, Liverpool finished a 30-year wait last season.

“We’re very excited to partner with a global icon like Liverpool FC. This strategic partnership will strengthen Nike’s position as the world ‘s best and most inclusive football brand,” said Nike’s Bert Hoyt in a statement.”

“As the next season kicks off, we look forward to supplying innovative, stylish collections to the club and its supporters while furthering our shared ambition to inspire young people and future generations through brilliant football.”

“I have been part of the Nike family for six years and we have an amazing relationship,” added Virgil van Dijk in a statement.

“I am very familiar with the quality of the design and innovation that makes a kit like this. Stepping out in this kit next season as champions are going to be really special.”

Liverpool MD and CCO Billy Hogan added: “When we first announced the new partnership with Nike in January, we talked about our expectations of becoming an amazing club partner.”

“We are so excited to start this journey with Nike, the global leader in sports equipment, and look forward to working together to bring our supporters performance and lifestyle product in the coming year.”

Nike has also committed to supporting a community initiative in Toxteth, including a BAME coaching course bursary scheme and a BAME youth leadership forum in partnership with other city organizations.

The kit is described as “a celebration of this new relation, recognizing the past while setting the tone for future collections.”

The shirt will be accompanied by traditional red shorts and socks, though this year’s kit is a slightly brighter shade to “exude youth and vibrancy, complementing the traditional white and introducing teal to the home jersey.”
