Lisbon’s Sporting academy will perpetuate the name of Cristiano Ronaldo

The Sun reported as announced by Sporting that the academy of Lisbon’s Sporting, one of the most popular Portuguese football clubs, will be named after its most famous student – Cristiano Ronaldo (35).

Sporting said in a statement, specifying that the official renaming ceremony will take place when Ronaldo is back in his homeland, “The academy will perpetuate the name of the greatest symbol it has created and which will serve as an inspiration to all young talents.”

In 1997 from Madeira, the five-time best footballer in the world came to Sporting’s academy in southern Lisbon when he was just 12 years old.

Before playing for Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus, Ronaldo made his debut for Sporting’s first team at the age of 17.
