Ligue 1’s opening to get postpone after Marseille recorded three positive COVID-19 cases

In the opening season of Ligue 1 on Friday night, Marseille is due to take on St Etienne.

Marseille confirmed three additional coronavirus cases, following to this Ligue 1’s opening game of the season is at risk.

After left-back Jordan Amavi tested positive last week the number of players and backroom staff who contracted the virus reaches a total of four.

The Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) is likely to make a decision as to whether the game will take place later today.

Ahead of a game against Brest on Sunday, Ligue 1 Nimes club also announced “two suspected cases”.
