Ligue 1: PSG thrashed Saint-Etienne with Messi’s three assists

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) thrashed Saint-Etienne 3-1 in France’s Ligue 1 on Sunday. Former Barcelona superstar striker Lionel Messi assisted in all three of the team’s goals. For PSG, Marquinhos scored two goals while Angel Di Maria scored one. On the other hand, Denis Bonga scored the only goal for Saint-Etienne. 

St. Etienne dominated the football match from the start as in the 23rd minute of the game, Denis Bouanga scored a goal by hitting an off-sight player. PSG’s Messi assisted the goal, and Marquinhos scored the equalizer, defying the goalkeeper in 45 +2 minutes. PSG’s Angel Di Maria scored in the 79th minute to give the team a 2-1 lead. In the 90th minute, Marquinho once again ensured PSG’s victory by scoring a goal. 

St. Etienne had to play the remainder of the match with 10 players from the 45th minute when Timothy had to leave the field on a red card. In this match, Paris Saint-Germain defeated Saint-Etienne on a 3-1 match score.

It snowed during this match as well. However, PSG suffered a setback when their star striker Neymar was forced to leave the field on a stretcher due to a heel injury. He gave the team the lead by scoring a goal early in the match, but the referee declared his goal off-side. Former Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos also made his PSG debut.
