Leicester City crushed Manchester United after seven years

Manchester United played against Leicester, who imposed the conditions of the game on their rivals from the beginning. Already in the 17th minute, Jamie Vardy had the opportunity for a goal, but Dean Henderson defended his shot.

Manchester United’s goalkeeper was helpless against Kelechi Iheanacho. After a fatal error by Fred, the Nigerian intercepted the ball and slotted it into the net from close range.

The visitors’ midfielder literally assisted on his hit. Iheanacho confirmed his high form scoring a goal for the fourth match in a row.

Almost a quarter of an hour later Manchester United responded as Mason Greenwood scored the equalizer.  The Englishman finished a great action of his team with extraordinary calmness. He was assisted by Paul Pogba.

Leicester confirmed their superiority after the break. In the 52nd minute, Youri Tielemans showed off with a brilliant individual action. The Belgian passed several rivals and put the ball into the goal with a precise shot. Soon after, Vardy had a chance to increase the score, but in a good situation shot past the right post.

Manchester United rushed to make up for the loss but was unable to break through their rivals’ barriers. In the end, we watched a really good meeting, marked by a high pace of play and spectacular actions.

For a long time, there was a smell of extra time, but in the 78th minute, Leicester struck the decisive blow. Marc Albrighton’s free-kick was met by Iheanacho. The Nigerian ensured the Foxes advanced to the FA Cup semi-finals. His team will face Southampton in the next round.

Since 2014, Leicester won over Manchester United for the first time.
