Leicester City’s quest for the Champions League is back on track with goals of Ayoze Perez and Demarai Gray that gave Leicester a justified 2-0 win over Sheffield United.
Outstanding debutant Luke Thomas found the Spanish playmaker in the box and was drilling past Dean Henderson in a low strike, just before the half-hour mark.
The Foxes had many chances of doubling their lead and the under-par Blades had to thank Henderson twice for stops from Harvey Barnes and Jamie Vardy, who also saw an effort come back from the post.
After being spotted by Vardy on the far side of the net, the second actually arrived 11 minutes from time as Gray fired back across Henderson.
Leicester City – Sheffield United 2:0
Goals: Perez 29, Gray 79.
Yellow card: Evans.
