After the EPL match against Leeds (3-1), Chelsea’s head coach Frank Lampard spoke about the injury of winger Hakim Ziyech and praised the midfielder N’Golo Kante.
About Kante
“Whatever I ask him to do, whatever tasks he has in the middle of the field, he comes out quietly and does them on a fantastic level. Playing against Leeds’ extremely mobile midfield was incredibly difficult, but we handled it brilliantly and Kante was our key element,” said Lampard to Chelsea official website.
About Ziyech’s injury
“He has a rear thigh injury, the severity of which we will assess in the next couple of days. This is a loss for us, especially with such a busy calendar.”
“I am happy for Christian (Pulisic replaced Ziyech in 30 minutes). He had a difficult recovery period after his injury when he was disappointed to be unable to get on the field. He spent over 60 minutes in a match against Sevilla.”
“Today, I was preparing for a very energy-intensive game, so I decided to keep him on reserve and let him out for half an hour at the end of the match.”
“He had to get on the field earlier and he spent the time he had allocated with the highest intensity and scored a goal. I admire him and I am sure he will only get stronger.”
