Barcelona head coach Ronald Koeman has given his thoughts on Barsagate and the situation with former club president Josep Bartomeu, who was recently released on bail after a night at the police station.
Koeman was appointed Barcelona coach under Bartomeu’s management.
“It’s bad for the image of the club. We will have to wait and see what happens. I wasn’t at the club at the time. There’s nothing we can do about it, we just need to concentrate on football,” Koeman said at the press conference.
“When I found out [about Bartomeu’s detention], I was shocked. I know him and Oscar Grau, who has also been detained.”
“I feel sorry for them because we had important moments in common. For me, Bartomeu has always been exceptional.”
