Chelsea is reportedly willing to exercise to obtain a contract for Burnley’s goalkeeper Nike Pope.
Following a fail in making a positive impact at Stamford Bridge since his arrival in 2018, Kepa Arrizabalaga is expected to leave Stamford Bridge later in the summer.
Due to which Frank Lampard will be left in the search for an appropriate replacement for the Spaniard. The release clause for the player will not generate near the £72 m that Chelsea shelled out two years back.
After the superb campaign of the England international at Turf Moor, Lampard is pleased to prioritize the pursuit of Pope, according to the Daily Star.
Narrowly missing out on the Premier League Golden Glove award, however, could result in Pope being valued at around £ 50 m.
Pope is said to be interested to move to a bigger club over the coming weeks, knowing that it could help his chances of representing his country at Euro 2020.
