Bayer Leverkusen player Kai Havertz has now decided to move to Chelsea.
There were rumors that he has already joined the side of Frank Lampard.
After 10 years, Havertz is keen to put Leverkusen in the club’s books this summer.
To abandon Chelsea as the frontrunners for his signature, not Real Madrid nor Bayern Munich will come close to the demands of Leverkusen for £90m, owing to a financial burden caused by the coronavirus.
There have been several stories saying that Chelsea is optimistic that an agreement can be reached and now, Havertz has already agreed that he wants to play his football next summer at Stamford Bridge, according to Kicker (via Sportbuzzer).
It has emerged recently that Havertz is not worried about whether the team is still in the Champions League and he wants to join a team with a long-term exciting project.
Chelsea’s three-year strategy was adequate to convince Timo Werner and seems to have had the same effect on Havertz.
