In the match of the 17th round of the Italian football championship, Juventus beat Sassuolo 3-1 with great difficulty, jumping to fourth place in Serie A.
Despite Gregoire Defrel’s goal, before a last-gasp Cristiano Ronaldo strike, Juventus were forced to work very hard as Danilo’s rocket and Aaron Ramsey eventually broke 10-man Sassuolo.
Turin’s “Old Lady” came to victory only in the very end of the game although Juve had more players throughout the second half.
Perhaps a crucial moment happened at the very end of the first half when Pedro Obiang was sent off for a sharp foul. Judge Davide Massa reviewed the VAR footage and sent Obiang to cool off.
Juventus took the lead with a player more in the 51st minute through Danilo, but seven minutes later Gregoire Defrel scored for 1-1.
In the 67th minute, the home side took a step back, but Federico Chiesa hit the post. Six minutes later Cristiano Ronaldo had a free-kick, but Andrea Consigli reacted brilliantly.
And the brave guests had several opportunities, perhaps for a feat. However, in the 82nd minute, Aaron Ramsey scored for 2-1, and Ronaldo set the final 3-1 in the last moments of the match.
