Juventus registered first Serie A victory of the season

Juventus defeated Sampdoria on a 3-2 football result winning their first Serie A home win of the season, despite another unconvincing performance. Manuel Locatelli’s strike was deflected, but he set up Paulo Dybala, who smashed into the near bottom corner from the edge of the box.

Soon after, Federico Chiesa fired inches wide, and Alvaro Morata fired straight at the onrushing Emil Audero. However, Dybala pulled up clutching his leg and limped off in tears just as the Bianconeri were getting into gear. Later Dejan Kulusevski replaced him, but Dybala’s departure sapped Juve’s enthusiasm, which had started so well.

Nicola Murru hand blocked Chiesa’s strike just before halftime and Leonardo Bonucci converted the penalty low and hard into the near bottom corner. Murru was attempting to turn away, but his trailing hand was raised, so it was a toss-up decision.

When Chiesa ran at defenders, Omar Colley’s clearance was straight at Kulusevski, who pulled back from the byline for Manuel Locatelli to score from six yards, the Bianconeri restored their two-goal lead. It was the Italian international’s first goal for Juventus.

While Audero saved a Rodrigo Bentancur strike and Morata blasted wide from an Aaron Ramsey assist Matthijs de Ligt had to make a perfect tackle on Quagliarella. It wasn’t over, though, and Samp set up a tense finish with a well-worked move down the left with Adrien Silva, who found Candreva to blast in the angled drive from 12 yards.
