Juventus  beat Spezia as Ronaldo returned from coronavirus

When Cristiano Ronaldo emerged from the bench, clean of coronavirus and in top form, until then Juventus were again headed for a 1-1 draw.

To save Juventus with a brace in their 4-1 victory at Spezia on Sunday from a third consecutive Serie A stalemate, Cristiano Ronaldo returned from the coronavirus.

However, Ronaldo was only just fit enough to make the bench and watched as Tommaso Pobega fortuitously canceled out Alvaro Morata’s opener and the Bianconeri consequently toiled.

Eventually, Pirlo turned to his talisman, and just 126 seconds after his return, the 35-year-old netted a goal, later scoring a Panenka penalty for his next after fellow substitute Adrien Rabiot had all but sealed a welcoming win.

As the Portuguese rounded Ivan Provedel out of Morata’s pass to slot into the net, the effect was instant.

Though Juve survived another fright when Kevin Agudelo saw a leveler chalked off when Buffon spilled the header of Chabot, Rabiot put the outcome beyond doubt, dancing through the defense of Spezia and ending through the post.

And Ronaldo clipped a cute spot-kick down the middle of the goal for number four when Paolo Bartolomei was tripped clumsily by Federico Chiesa.
