Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp reported that midfielder Thiago Alcantara has not yet returned to training with the first team, but noted that he is not too far from making a comeback, according to the Mirror.
Since the draw in the Merseyside derby back in October, when he picked up a knee injury, the 29-year-old hasn’t played for the Reds.
Since joining during the last transfer window, managing only 134 minutes of play so far, Thiago has only managed to make two starts for his new side.
“When will he be in team training? I don’t know. We will see. I’m as surprised as the public. In the morning I come in, we have a medical meeting and they tell me ‘yes he is in, he is not’. I know it’s not too far any more [for Thiago], but I have no idea.”
