Jurgen Klopp has confirmed to take a year off from football as his time with Liverpool comes to an end.
It was a tough Premier League season for the Reds’ manager as many first-team defenders were hurt and a disappointing run of form at Anfield since the turn of the year, which has seen his side dropping out of the title chase and into the top four.
Klopp, who has recently been linked with the German national team job, has stated that he wants time off and that no bid can convince him to take another position during his break.
“When Liverpool finish, it’s definitely a year’s break. No one needs to call, not after four months or after six. No matter who tries it, it’s a year’s shift,” Klopp said during an interview with compatriot Lothar Matthaus for Bild.
