Jurgen Klopp doubtful to sign defender due to coronavirus pandemic

A new defensive centre-back at Liverpool is not too likely, suggested head coach Jurgen Klopp even with the high number of injuries in the team.

“I can’t say with certainty that we won’t sign a defender, but it’s unlikely,” the German shared his thoughts with The Athletic.

“This club will always be very responsible for what we do.”

“If the world was in a normal place and the three main centre-backs were injured, would it be worth doing something about that situation? Yes, as a rule. But not in this case.”
