Jurgen Klopp, head coach of Liverpool vocalized about the fight for the championship in the English Premier League.
“Now it does not seem to me that we are chasing someone or that someone is chasing us. When I look at football, I see that Tottenham is doing a great job, and Chelsea seems to me to be the favorite of the season at the moment – bigger line-up, great players, great football.”
“Now they have everything they need, and the coach has an incredible opportunity to do a serious rotation from match to match. There you go,” Klopp said to Liverpool’s official website.
“We keep an eye on them, but we don’t race. We only play against them when we meet with them – last year we looked at things the same way. There is pressure, but everything is in our hands.”
“The pressure is to win, and we want to beat Wolves. This weekend we will only play with Wolverhampton, we won’t have any other rivals, so everyone else can play with each other and someone can score points. This is always the case.”
“It’s too early to think about who’s ahead of who or something. Right now, that’s just the situation. I’ve already said that this season it won’t be like this: I set a goal and you go to it.”
“This year you have to achieve results by playing the best football you can show. We are trying to do that. Sometimes on weekends and in the middle of the week, the quality of the game varies due to some circumstances, but we always have a goal.”
“We concentrate on the next match, on the next opponent. It’s too early to think about other people’s results.”
With 21 points after 10 matches, Liverpool is currently ranked 3rd in the EPL standings.
Tottenham is in second place, with the same performance. Chelsea is in the lead with 22 points after 11 games.
