Jurgen Klopp believes Manchester City will be more difficult next season

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp selected Manchester City for fear of Premier League champions, stopping next season even more difficult. Pep Guardiola’s side is on the verge of winning the Premier League title won by Liverpool last year.

City has already lifted the League Cup and are on track for their first Champions League final, after winning 2–1 with Paris St Germain in the first leg of the semi-finals. Ironically, Liverpool would seal the title for City if the leaders defeated Crystal Palace on Saturday and Klopp’s men beat Manchester United for second place on Sunday.

After being far behind Manchester City during the injury-plagued campaign, Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is not expecting things to get any easier in the next term, especially with United and Chelsea improving.

“We are responsible for what is happening to us. We have consistently appeared in the semi-finals and have been fighting for the league title in recent years. They (the city) deserve the position they are in. This is football, that’s right. they won a lot of games.”

“We will challenge them again next year, but this year we can finish our season as much as possible and we have nothing to do with the semi-finals and finals.”

Liverpool faces United on Sunday in search of their first win at Old Trafford in seven years. However, a win is necessary if they want to maintain their hopes of qualifying for the Champions League and Klopp admits that things will only get harder next season.

“It always gets tough because the city never stops. it’s clear. They will not stop and they will not stop. United is definitely coming, everyone can see it. Chelsea is clearly a fantastic place, a top team,” Klopp added.

“Thomas (Tuchel) inherited a gift and you can see that he is very good, so it will not be easy. We are not just talking about the city, there will definitely be other teams. We have to deal with all the other teams that are remarkably strong but still go under the radar like Leicester. No one should cancel Tottenham or Arsenal. Apparently, West Ham is now flying. How can it be easy? It is not just a city,” said Jurgen Klopp.
