Liverpool head coach Jurgen Klopp has conversed about the coronavirus situation in the Premier League.
some matches have been postponed as there were a record number of cases of infection in the latest round of testing in the EPL.
“I am not a doctor, but I think we have to do everything we can to keep the tournament going. We knew there would be a second wave in the winter. On top of that, it was Christmas, when it’s harder for people to isolate themselves. So the rise in numbers is understandable,” said the German to Sky Sports.
“Of course, the number of cases will rise in football as well, but we are still doing our best to keep the lads as safe as possible. I think the tournament can go on. It’s important because people want to watch the matches and we are isolated unlike the rest of society.”
“I think we can continue to play, but I respect the experts and I also respect any decisions that will be made in the next few weeks.”
