Joan Laporta on Barcelona elections for president: I want to lead the club to glory

Barcelona former president Joan Laporta discussed his plans at the club. He also decided to run for the post again.

“I do this because I love Barcelona, its fans, and La Masia. I love this club and I am ready to serve it again,” quotes Laporta Marca.

“We have made the necessary preparations, we have the experience and determination to make the necessary changes and bring Barcelona back to the top of world football.”

“Millions of fans of the club around the world want to see new successes. We must bring back Barcelona’s pride. I want to lead the club to glory.”

“I will work tirelessly to make Barcelona a source of positive emotions, to bring back the motivation of our players, to dominate the Champions League, which is a priority tournament for us every year.”

“Barcelona and the Champions League is a success story that unfortunately has been destroyed. We will make decisions that will take us back to the top.”

“Being president of Barcelona was a great honour, the best years of my life, so returning to this post is the main challenge of my life.” 

As President of Barcelona, Laporta served from 2003 to 2010. During this period, winning a total of 12 trophies the club won La Liga 4 times and the Champions League 2 times.

At present, 8 candidates have confirmed their intention to run for president of Barcelona. The elections will take place in January 2021.
