25 years ago Javier Zanetti officially unveiled himself as an Inter player, and now he has been talking about his ‘pride’ celebration.
With the Nerazzurri paying €6.5 m for the then-21-year-old right-back to Argentina’s side Banfield, Zanetti was the first signing of the Massimo Moratti era at Inter in the summer of 1995.
Winning five Scudetti, four Coppa Italia and the Champions League, he went on to become the player with the most appearances in the history of the club (858), in 2010.
“Twenty-five years ago, today, [was] my official presentation with Inter,” he tweeted.
“Still a beautiful moment to watch and remember with pride, for the start of my fantastic story with the Nerazzurri family.”
In 2014 he retired from professional football. The 46-year-old was fast-tracked to his current position of Vice-President.
