Jack Grealish left his boyhood club Aston Villa to join Manchester City in a football transfer. The contract was officially confirmed on Thursday by Citizens. Following a move to City, Jack appeared in a press conference and addressed everyone for the first time since joining the Premier League club.
Grealish, who made his City debut on the bench in the Community Shield match against Leicester City, said he had an amazing Man City welcome. At his official unveiling, Manchester City’s record signing Jack Grealish speaks with some of the club’s fans.
“Everyone has seen the way Messi was at his final press conference, that is the exact way I felt myself,” said Grealish on a press conference. Lionel Messi cried while he announced his departure from Barcelona, and Jack Grealish sympathized with the Argentina star after leaving boyhood football club Aston Villa. Grealish says he felt like Messi as he moved from the boyhood club, he joined at the age of six, to Manchester City.
Jack was touched the same way as a tearful Lionel Messi did when announcing his departure from Barcelona, this was shocking football news. He continued, “Before I left the hotel I spoke to the team, the staff and the players and I teared up a bit myself. I felt like it was time for me to move on.”
“I’ve always said how much I wanted to play Champions League football – I couldn’t do that at Villa this year. I have come here to win silverware and play in the Champions League, so that is my only focus now,” Jack added.
Grealish, who has been at Villa since the age of six, told reporters on Monday that he understood Messi’s situation. Former Villa captain joined City on Thursday for a British record fee of £100 million, with the Premier League champions meeting the England midfielder’s release clause to bring him to the Etihad Stadium.
