Lazio head coach Simone Inzaghi has recapitulated up the first leg of the Champions League 1/8 final against Bayern Munich (1-4).
“Before the match, we were talking to the lads about playing our own football. But we got nervous and didn’t stick together against the champions and, as a matter of fact, we scored three goals against ourselves. At that level, you can’t afford mistakes like that,” said Inzaghi to Sky Sport Italia.
“If they had given us a penalty with the scoreline at 0-1, the game could have been different, but today was not our day. We will learn from this lesson to become stronger.”
“I do not want to say that Bayern does not deserve to win, but we have difficult opponents, and we have made it even more difficult for ourselves. Hopefully, in Munich, we will be able to play with a little more freedom.”
