Inter CEO Beppe Marotta has sent an official letter to the Lega Serie A chief Paolo Dal Pino, aiming to push the season 2020-21 by one week.
According to Football Italia, Nerazzurri asked for more time to train for the upcoming season after Antonio Conte’s side ended the 2019-20 season on August 21 with a loss in the Europa League Final against Seville.
On Tuesday, September 1st Series A 2020-21 calendar will be introduced and the first round of fixtures will begin on September 19th.
If Inter is authorized to delay their season by a week, the Nerazzurri will be back to practice on September 5, 6, or 7 and will be perfect to play on September 26 or 27 in the second round of fixtures, and then overcome the missed match on September 30.
