Inter again broke through to a second place in the standings, defeating Napoli 2-0 in Milan, in the derby of the penultimate, 37th round of the Italian league.
From the crowd in the penalty area, Danielle D’Ambrosio (11) secured a goal and from a solo breakthrough, Lautaro Martínez (74) netted another goal, which led to Inter’s victory. Marcelo Brozović played the whole game for the hosts.
While Napoli remained seventh with 59 points and can now turn to a return leg of the Champions League with Barcelona, Inter has 79 points, one point more than Atalanta, and the decision on the runner-up will offer their mutual duel in the last round.
