Inter got Mertens before Chelsea, unable to cash in on Perisic

Inter apparently accepted terms with Napoli forward Dries Mertens, while Bayern Munich missed the deadline to purchase Ivan Perisic.

Inter overhauled Chelsea for Mertens, and now they have officially entered into a two-year contract worth € 5 m a season, with a €4 m sign-on bonus, reported Corriere Della Sera

On the other side, Inter will soon be unable to sign in Perisic.

That’s because Bayern missed the deadline to take up their €20 m option to permanently transfer the winger’s loan, according to Sky Sport Italia.

However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the broadcaster says that the German giants have been calling for more time.
