Hyderabad FC has moved up to the second spot in the Indian Super League 2021-22 points table with a victory. Hyderabad FC beat NorthEast United FC 5-1 in a one-sided league match played at the GMC Athletic Stadium in Bambolin. This was Hyderabad’s third win in five matches and they have 10 points.
At the same time, NorthEast United are in 10th place after their fourth loss. Hyderabad FC dominated the match. The influence of players was also visible in the midfield. On the other hand, there was a lack of coordination among the players of NorthEast United, due to which their players were seen committing fouls.
Although the NorthEast players tried to play some aggressive football in the second half after being on the defensive before half time, but not much benefit was achieved. Coach Khalid Jamil’s decision to make eight changes in the starting XI also did not affect the performance of the team.
Hyderabad FC got an early lead in the 12th minute. Manipuri centre-back Chinglensana Singh scored the goal. Chinglensana came forward and put the ball inside the goalpost from the six yard box and the score was 1-0. In the 27th minute, 37-year-old Nigerian striker Bartholomew Ogbeche doubled Hyderabad’s lead. Laldanmawia Ralte brought relief to NorthEast United FC with his first goal of the season in the 43rd minute as the score was reduced to 1–2.
Ogbeche scored his second goal of the match in the 78th minute to take Hyderabad 3-1. The fourth goal for the team was scored by substitute player Aniket Jadhav in the 90th minute. Javier Siverio netted the decisive goal in stoppage time ending the match on a 5-1 match score.
