India held draw with Nepal in international friendly

The international friendly football match between India and Nepal ended in a 1-1 draw on Thursday. The match played between the two teams at the Dasarath Stadium in Kathmandu ended in a 1-1 draw. For India, Anirudh Thapa scored the goal in the 60th minute to equalize the match score after Anjan Bista scored the goal for Nepal in the 36th minute. 

Now the second match between the two teams will be played on September 5. Talking about yesterday football match, in the 36th minute of the game, Anjan Vista scored a goal for Nepal to take a 1-0 lead over India. After this, the Indian team tried to make a comeback but failed. In this way, Nepal’s team took a 1-0 lead over India in the first half. However, the Indian football team did not give up and in the second half, Anirudh Thapa scored for India and brought the score to 1-1. 

Thapa scored this goal in the 60th minute of the game. After this, both teams tried to take the lead but failed. With this, the friendly football match ended in a 1-1 draw. The Nepal team received two yellow cards, Anjan Bista took the first in the 49th minute while the other was given to Suman Lama in the 51st minute. There was one more yellow card for the Nepali team in the final finals minute for Suman Aryan at the 89th minute.

The Indian football team was playing the first international match after the last group match against Afghanistan in the 2018 World Cup Qualifier and 2023 Asian Cup Combined Qualifier.

The match also kick-started India’s preparations for next month’s SAFF Championship in the Maldives. The five-team SAFF Championship will be played from October 3 to 13 at the National Stadium in Male. Apart from India, the other participating teams are Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, hosts Maldives, and Nepal.
