Iker Casillas retired and Messi noted few words

To pay tribute to the great Iker Casillas who retired from Real Madrid and Spain, Barcelona legend Lionel Messi has joined the other leading football figures.

Talking to AS, Messi said: “Iker is retired today, but his place as a game hero was earned a long time ago-not just because he was one of the greatest players in LaLiga, but also because he achieved all at international level.”

The Argentine told the 39-year-old in a message to Casillas: “You are a fantastic goalkeeper and I have to admit you were a very good opponent. I think it was a very unique rivalry looking back, that forced us to hit new heights every time we came up against each other.”
