In the 1st round of the Europa League, Tottenham beat LASK 3-0 last night with a goal by Lucas Moura, an own goal by Andrade and a goal by Son.
Jose Mourinho’s team played a solid game, and again Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg was excellent, slowly becoming one of Tottenham’s best transfers.
The Dane very quickly imposed himself in the midfield of the Spurs, and last night he insisted on continuing the game even though he received a blow that gave him a blindfold. Jose Mourinho said what he thought after Hojbjerg twice outplayed the opposing players in the manner of Zinedine Zidane in the middle of the first half.
“We joked in the locker room that he played like Zidane. It was really nice, but I told him not to try it too often,” Mourinho said on press conference with a laugh, adding:
“Pierre-Emil shows the qualities of a true leader and if I chose him as captain, I wouldn’t go wrong. He’s our captain without a ribbon.”
Hojbjerg came to Tottenham this summer from Southampton for 16.6 million euros.
