After Germany failed the lead to a 1-1 draw with Switzerland in the UEFA Nations League game on Sunday, Ilkay Gundogan says he was “pissed off.”
“I’m a little pissed off. We’ve lost balls pointlessly. It’s really irritating, and I’m a little pissed off,” Gundogan told ZDF.
“It was entirely up to us. We were in a strong starting spot, leading 1-0. Then we gave up a poor pass, ran into a counter-attack, and then it was 1-1.”
“This is not a process, this is a very simple football match. If you’ve got the ball in there, you’ve got to keep it out there. Then you’ve got to struggle for the last 10, 20 minutes, and you’re lucky enough to get the point out.”
“I’m disappointed, really. We were expected to play ice cold in the second half, so we’re giving away two points.”
