Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola has summarized the outcome of the 3-1 win over Chelsea in the 17th round of the EPL.
“They put pressure on us in the first minutes and we had a tough time. We didn’t let them do anything, apart from the last minute goal,” Guardiola told Sky Sports as per BBC.
“We played really well and we got a great result at Stamford Bridge. You can’t win a trophy if you don’t play like that.”
“Chelsea are one of the strongest teams. The result of their last game was disappointing, but the level of their players is high, both those on the pitch and those on the bench.”
“We had a plan for the match; we were going to play the way we did before. And it all worked out. The players acted magnificently in every sense, especially in possession of the ball.”
“We cannot play like the others, we have to act at our own pace, attack at the right moment for us. That is how we won trophies – by being patient. Our players have to keep the ball on the pitch, from goalkeeper to forward, make a thousand passes, and wait for the right moment.”
