The 12th season of the Dubai Globe Soccer Awards was held at the Burj Khalifa in which Poland and Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski was named the best goal scorer and the audience’s choice footballer of the year. Lewandowski won the Maradona Award for Best Goal Scorer. At the same time, Cristiano Ronaldo of Manchester United was given the award for holding the record for the most goals in the world. Ronaldo, playing in the English Premier League football tournament, thanked for the award by sending a video message.
France and Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe was awarded the best men’s footballer and Alexia Putelas won the best women’s footballer award. The Best Women’s Club award went to Barcelona and the Men’s Club award was won by Chelsea. Italy’s Gianluigi Donnaruma was chosen as Goalkeeper of the Year as he saved a penalty against England in the Euro final. The best coach of the year award went to Roberto Mancini and the national team award went to Italy.
