Football Insider reports that Leeds United management is considering Steven Gerrard as the main candidate if Marcelo Bielsa resigns as head coach.
Bielsa’s contract expires next year and in case the agreement with the Argentinean specialist cannot be renewed Leeds has already started looking for a new coach. It is noted that Leeds has already thought about inviting Gerrard.
Since 2018, Gerrard has been working at the Rangers. The contract of the 40-year-old English specialist with the Scottish club is valid till 2024.
Rangers, having 38 points, lead in the standings of the Scottish championship, ahead of Celtic by 9 points. Leeds is 15th in the EPL scoring 10 points in eight rounds.
