On Sunday Germany gave a tired performance and holding a 1-1 draw by Switzerland and was still waiting for their first Nations League win.
Silvan Widmer earned a deserved draw with an equalizer just before the hour for their smaller neighbors though Ilkay Gundogan gave the perfect start to Joachim Loew’s side when he scored a clinical goal in the 14th minute.
Ultimately, in the League A Group 4 game, Germany might have been grateful for the draw because the much more lively hosts created the better chances.
This time Germany has drawn two games around to open whereas they failed to win any of its four games in the inaugural League of Nations two years ago. Switzerland has one point to go after it has lost its opener to Ukraine.
In the other match of Nations League Group A, Spain won against Ukraine at home. Two Ramos goals got the Spaniards the lead before Ansu Fati and Ferran Torres added two more for a big in Madrid.
