Atalanta head coach Gian Piero Gasperini has shared his assumptions from the Champions League 1/8 finals (0-1 first leg) against Real Madrid.
“This year we have matches without spectators. It’s a pity Atalanta fans can’t travel around Europe. It would be a real festival in Madrid,” Gasperini said to Sky Sport Italia.
“Penalty in the first match? We need to think about [the upcoming] game. Concentrate only on it, because it will be even more difficult away. We want to compete with Real, so thinking about this game is very important.”
“The first half will give us an idea of how the balance of the match will play out. We need to understand how we can hold off Real and what we can offer. We are ambitious, but we face a serious opponent.”
“We have several plans and the goal is to stay in the game as long as possible. For sure, we will not change.”
