Gasperini on 1-3 with Real Madrid: we wanted to play better. It’s a real shame

Gian Piero Gasperini, Atalanta head coach has reviewed the results of the Champions League 1/8 final return leg against Real Madrid (1-3, first leg 0-1).

“I don’t regret the choice [of squad] I made. We cannot afford to make mistakes and give away goals, we wanted to play better. It’s a real shame,” said the coach to UEFA official website.

“It’s always a fantastic experience for everyone: for the coach, for the players, for the club. We had the opportunity to play against the best in Europe. We have performed well this season and we are disappointed with the last two matches.”
