Gareth Bale ready to boycott social media if it’s organized campaign

Gareth Bale, Tottenham midfielder and Wales captain, has revealed his eagerness to take part in a massive boycott of social media.

“If we all do it together, if it’s not one or two people, then I’m ready. If an organized campaign involving influential people from the world of sport and other spheres started, if a general statement was made, I think I could help,” said Bale to Sky Sports.

“I am all for it if the situation were to develop like that.”

Former France striker Thierry Henry had previously announced his resignation from social media in protest at their failure to act on racism and abuse.
