Gabriel Martinelli gave a promising first season at the club, following that he has been granted a new agreement at Arsenal.
With Arsenal teenage striker Gabriel Martinelli has signed a new long term deal.
The 19-year-old scored 10 goals in his first season in England in 26 games after joining Ituano’s London club last July.
Two days after fellow teenager Bukayo Saka restricted his future to the Premier League team, Arsenal has rewarded the Brazil Under-23 international with a new contract.
Martinelli had knee surgery thus he won’t play again this season but Gunners head coach Mikel Arteta believes in him and says he has a bright future.
Arteta said: “I’m very happy Gabi signed a new deal with us.”
“He’s a very talented young player and his performances, attitude and work-rate amazed us.”
“We look forward to having him back into full fitness and seeing his progress in our club.”
Martinelli posted on Instagram: “I am very pleased to be committing my future to this great club and I want to thank Arsenal and all the fans for this fantastic year.”
“It’s the first of many and I can’t wait to be back in the fun seasons ahead to play a role!”
“‘Look on the front of the shirt for the name and they will know the name on the back.’ @tonyadamsofficial.”
