Ferdinand: Instability is not what wins the EPL

Rio Ferdinand, former Manchester United defender has talked out harshly following the team’s 1-2 defeat to Sheffield United in the 20th round of the EFL.

“Their eyes were not on fire. From the very first minute there was the lack of intensity we are used to seeing from United,” Ferdinand said to Daily Mail.

“I have to hand it to Sheffield Wednesday, Chris Wilder set them up very well but United didn’t challenge them either. Bruno Fernandes, on whom they had relied so heavily in previous weeks, months, failed today. The same goes for Paul Pogba.”

“If anyone at Old Trafford was getting carried away with their place in the table, it was a reality check. I think recently Man United responded beautifully to everything, but today it seemed to collapse.”

“Rashford and Martial evaporated, they did nothing, created nothing.”

“They played terrific against Liverpool last week. Sheffield United from the bottom of the table. With them, Man Utd looked sombre, sometimes lifeless. Instability is not what wins the EPL.”

“We’ve been saying that about Manchester United for many, many months now. The instability of individual players in the team is what’s holding them back.”
