Favre: Without fans, the game is “very, very strange”, we are missing them

Borussia Dortmund smashed rivals Schalke 4-0 yesterday, Lucien Favre was glad to witness this, he confessed that without the spectators the game was “very, very strange”.

With the Revierderby between Dortmund and Schalke being the focus of the fixtures scheduled for the weekend, Bundesliga was the first big European league to return Saturday from its coronavirus suspension.

Favre said it was great to see his team conquer the game after a comeback, but he admitted that behind closed doors the entire thing was different.

“4-0 Against Schalke-that ’s pretty good,” said Favre to official BVB site.

“The thing was the squad performed well together, defensively as well, and it was very, very special.”

“You’re shooting at the goal, making a top pass, a goal-and nothing happens. It’s very, very weird. We’re really missing our fans.”

“It was quite a different game than usual. It’s difficult to judge exactly how successful the game was. I thought it wasn’t as committed as expected. The players have been very concentrated on their task.”
