The defender of Lille, Gabriel Magalhaes received an offer from Everton.
According to Claudio Russo of CalcioNapoli24, the Premier League side offered the player a bid of €30 m (£27m).
Naples is also interested in the player but might miss out on the Brazilian now as they can’t match that offer.
For this summer Everton needs to improve and it would make perfect sense to have a signing like Gabriel. The Lille star was very impressive in the last season and he would certainly improve the Toffees on the back.
Gabriel could partner with the likes of Keane or Mina next season. Ancelotti’s team could be certainly helped with his composure and game reading to build the team from behind. Since John Stones’ departure, Everton has missed someone with that skill set.
It’ll be interesting to see whether Everton can wrap up the transfer now in the weeks ahead. They shouldn’t have any problems agreeing with the player on personal terms. The Toffees have the means to offer him a much better deal than Lille.
The 22-year-old is a mercurial talent and at Goodison Park, someone like Ancelotti could help him reach his potential.
