Perez, who will be the Founder Chairman of this Super League, says that this Super League is needed to develop football. At the same time, he said that youth interest in football has reduced.

There are plans to start this Super League with 20 teams and the other five clubs will join it every year. However, these clubs have been warned that by joining the Super League they can be ruled out of domestic competitions and face legal action. UEFA President Alexander Ceferin criticized the European Super League. Ceferin had said a day earlier that the players participating in this competition will be banned from the World Cup and European Championships.

UEFA executive committee member Jasper Möller that clubs in Real Madrid, Manchester City, and Chelsea can also be banned from this season’s Champions League Semi-Finals. At the same time, Perez said that Real Madrid will not be ruled out of the tournament. He also said that he was sure that none of these would be excluded.

James Milner Is unwilling to join the European Super League. Liverpool midfielder James Milner has also opposed to creating the European Super League. He says that players have no control over their decision which can change the face of football. Milner is the only player who has spoken against the formation of the Super League. On the other hand, Liverpool Coach Klopp said in 2019 that he hoped that the Super League would never happen and they still held their views.
