Euro 2020: Wales vs Denmark preview

Denmark, who entered the knockout after beating Russia 4-1 in the previous match, is now ready to face Wales for the first time in the Euro 2020 European Championship. In the first match itself, a player of the team suffers a heart attack in the middle ground and the morale of the team is shattered. Prayers pour in from all over the world for Danish player Christian Eriksen. Despite this emotional incident, the Danish team did not disintegrate and, pressing this pain in the heart, makes a strong return to the field.

Apart from this, Wales team coach Rob Page made some changes in the team after making the knockout and he has been successful in that too. After their loss to Italy in the previous match, Wales will try their best to get back on the winning track.

Wales’ team will miss their youngster Ethan Ampadu, who was given a straight red card for fouling by the referee in the match against Italy in the previous match. With this, he became the youngest player (20 years 279 days old) to get a straight red card in the Euro Cup tournament. However, due to the suspension, he will not be seen playing in this important match.

Wales fans will have high hopes from captain Gareth Bale. He scored 33 goals in the last Euro 2016, which saw the team reach the semi-finals and were knocked out in a 0-2 loss against Portugal. In such a situation, once again the team of Wales will try to go ahead with the knockout.

Talking about the Danish team, since the incident of Christian Eriksen, there is a lot of enthusiasm in the team captained by Simon Kjaer. Coach Kasper Hjulmand also acknowledged this before the knockout match. Kasper said, ‘I think about Christian a lot. He is eyeing the return of the next season. His not being with us hurts a lot.” The same can be the return of striker Kieffer Moore in the Danish team. While Danish coach Kasper Hjulmand has several options in place of Eriksen to be included in the playing XI.

Wales vs Denmark match is predicted to be a tie. However, the winner of this match will play against the winner of the match between Netherlands and Czech Republic in the quarter-final match to be held on July 3.
