A very shocking statement has come out regarding the matches of Euro Cup 2020. Prime Minister of Italy, Mario Draghi has revealed on Monday that he was not in support of the final match of this football tournament being held in England under any circumstances. He said that he was against taking such risk among people who would get infected in this wave of the corona epidemic.
According to the news of AFP, the Italian PM said in a statement, “Yes, we will do our best to ensure that the final of the tournament cannot be played in this country. The final match should be stopped in England where the infection is spreading so fast.” During a press conference in Berlin, he reiterated that it will be his endeavor not to play the final match of Euro Cup 2020 in England.
Italy continued their winning campaign with a 1–0 victory over Wales to enter the knockout stage of the Euro Cup. However, despite the defeat, Wales finished second in Group A and secured their place in the knockout stage. Wales has four points each in the table with Switzerland, but Wales moved up to third place due to a better goal difference.
In addition to the two pre-quarterfinals of Euro Cup 2020, both the semi-finals, the final match is to be played in London. These matches are set to be held at Wembley Stadium. This is the first time in the history of the 60-year tournament that its matches are being held in 12 different cities.
