Euro 2020: Finland suffered defeat against Russia

Finland team had to face a 1-0 defeat against Russia in Euro 2020 European Championship. In the opening fourth minute of the match, Joel Pohjanpalo scored a brilliant header from Finland’s side, but the goal was declared off-side, and after that Finland went backward in the match. This war became the main reason for Finland’s defeat in the match and Russia got the victory.

After this, Russia once again created an opportunity in the injury time of the first half and Aleksei Miranchuk scored a brilliant goal to give the team the lead.

In the second half, Finnish players tried hard, but they failed to break into Russia’s defense and could not score a single goal till the end. Therefore in yesterday match result, Russia won the match 1-0. It was also predicted that Russia would win this football match.

This win is Russia’s first in two matches and they are now placed second in Group B with three points. At the same time, Finland’s team, which has qualified in the Euro Cup for the first time, is also in third place with the same number of points with one win in two matches.

Russia suffered a major setback in the 25th minute during the match against Finland, when defender Mario Fernandes was injured while trying to hit a header and had to be carried off a stretcher. Later, it was learned that he suffered a spinal cord injury, due to which he had to be admitted to the hospital. This is the second time in the Euro Cup that a player has been taken to the hospital on a stretcher.
