Euro 2020 day 2 Denmark vs Finland prediction

On Saturday evening in the tournament opener, Denmark will take on Finland. They will be eager to get off to the best possible start. The Danes will be looking to compete with Belgium for first place in Group F of Euro 2020, but Russia will also be looking to get to the knockout stage, so it will be an intriguing competition in this division. Euro 2020 day 2 is already set for June 12 and we have guessed Denmark vs Finland prediction and lineup.

Team news

Denmark lineup: Schmeichel; Wass, Christensen, Kjaer, Maehle; Hojbjerg, Delaney; Poulsen, Eriksen, Braithwaite; Wind

In the Denmark defense, ahead of Jannik Vestergaard, Andreas Christensen is anticipated to start with Simon Kjaer.

Jonas Wind, Kasper Dolberg, and Andreas Cornelius are vying for the position of attack leader.

Finland lineup: Hradecky; Arajuuri, Toivio, O’Shaughnessy; Raitala, Kamara, Sparv, Lod, Uronen; Pohjanpalo, Pukki

Teemu Pukki suffered an ankle injury and was sidelined for the same but returned off the bench in Finland’s final warm-up game, a 1-0 loss to Estonia.

In many respects, the Norwich striker represents his team’s hopes, so even if he isn’t totally fit, he is likely to start.

Despite the latter’s impressive performance from the bench last season for Brentford, Markku Kanerva has plenty of options to join Pukki, with Joel Pohjanpalo and Marcus Forss pushing for a starting berth.

Prediction

Denmark has been undefeated in 2021, having won four of their five games while drawing with Germany. The Danish Dynamite has prepared themselves well for Euro 2020 and are favourite to beat its Scandinavian rivals Finland on Saturday.

Finland, on the other hand, has lost three of its last six games and fans are hopeful they are saving their finest efforts for the event.

For Denmark, Kasper Hjulmand should be confident of a win to start their Group B campaign on home soil in Copenhagen.

Hjulmand’s team has won nine of their past 11 international games, and they should be too strong for a Finland team coming off three consecutive losses.

Our Prediction: Denmark 2-0 Finland
