The number of substitutions in the English Championship matches will not be increased, stated Richard Masters, CEO of the English Championship.
“We have already voted twice on this issue. I do not think anything will change in the near future,” said Masters as per Sky Sports.
Earlier, Jurgen Klopp, Ole-Gunnar Solskjaer, and Pep Guardiola insisted on the need to return to five substitutions per match.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, last season was suspended and after the resumption, five substitutions were made.
The clubs then voted against this rule in the new championship.
In other top leagues in Europe, five substitutions were left for this season as well.
