The EPL has closed its winter transfer window and a combined £84.2 million has been spent by all 20 clubs in the league on transfers in January.
This is significantly less than the previous winter transfer window’s total of 230 million in 2020. The record was set in the winter of 2018 at 430 million.
The move of forward Amad Diallo from Atalanta to Manchester United for £37 million was the biggest deal of the current winter transfer period in the EPL, according to Sky Sports. The deal was formally agreed on back in the summer.
Only 12 permanent transfers have been completed in the EPL over the entire transfer period. The most expensive of the new deals was the move of midfielder Morgan Sanson to Aston Villa for £15.5m from Marseille.
